L’apéroclasse
L’apéroclasse is a conversation class that happens the last Wednesday of the month at 6:30pm in a wine bar in San Francisco. The class is for intermediate to advance students. The concept of the class is very simple: we chat for an hour and a half, we drink a glass of wine and we sample cheese. Every month, I choose a topic and we start a one hour and a half conversation class. The number of spots is limited to 6 people so everyone can speak. This conversation class takes place in Aquitaine Wine Bar on Church Street in San Francisco. This event is an excellent opportunity to use your French in a real life environment and to meet others students! The price is $85 per person with wine and cheese included. L’apéroclasse online
L’apéroclass online is the exact same thing than the regular apéroclasse except it is online from your home, you get to drink the wine you want and it is cheaper! Join me on Zoom for a chat and a glass of wine! It happens every Tuesday at 7. It is an hour chat based on French news! This class only requires that you look into French news once in a while. The price is $25 per person and minimum of three people is required to open this event. This event is limited to 5 people so everyone can speak! Please note that this class is by reservation only. Sortie au musée
Every third Saturday of the month, French Connexion combines art and French language! This conversation class is art oriented. It takes place in a museum in San Francisco. The class in divided in 2 parts of one hour each. The first part is the visit of the exhibition and the second part a conversation about the exhibition that will take place in the cafeteria of the museum. The price is $80 per person, it includes the tickets for the museum. The number of spots is limited to 6 people so everyone can speak. Please note that this class is by reservation only. Group class
French Connexion offers group class with a minimum of 3 students and a maximum of 6. It is a one hour class. I like to keep smaller groups so everyone get to speak. For this class the students need to be at the same level. I always do a first class to identify the level of each people and see if they are a good match to be part of the same group. The group class will be weekly on Zoom and the price per person and per hour is $45. À bientôt!
Book club for kids online
Every Thursday of the scholar year at 6pm, French Connexion offers a book club in French for children age 10-11. This book club is reserved to kids who already speak French. The teacher chooses books adapted to the level and interests of the kids. The children read 3 books a year. We dedicated 10 weeks for the study of each book. Each week, the children have to read a part of the book and during an hour session, we talked about it. The teacher asked questions to make sure the children understood what they have read and we start a conversation about the book or an activity involving the story. Pronunciation workshop online
Every Saturday morning, at 9 and for 30 minutes, French Connexion offers a pronunciation workshop to enhance your pronunciation in French. French pronunciation can be challenging, however a good pronunciation will give you self confidence when you speak and assure you a better and more efficient communication, which is very important when it comes to talk with French speakers. For these reasons, we decided to create and offer this workshop. Every Saturday, we will focus on a specific sound of French and learn how to pronounce it like a native. This workshop is highly recommended to beginners so they start their learning on solid basis and avoid bad habits right away, but the workshop is suitable to whoever wants to improve their pronunciation. This workshop is based on the method called verbo-tonal. This method has been developed by a French specialist of phonetics, Michel Billières. This method guarantees significant improvements of you pronunciation. This workshop is reserved to a maximum of 4 students. We want to keep a small group so everyone can deeply work on their pronunciation. The price is $25 per person and half of it goes to a charity. À bientôt!
Book Club for adults beginners (A2) online
Who said you need to be an advanced learner to read in French? You can read in French when you are a A2 level meaning when you are in between beginner and intermediate. Every Monday at 7, French Connexion offers a book club for adults. French Connexion choses the book and every week, we will discuss for an hour the part everyone has read during the week before the meeting. The price is $35 per person and minimum of three people is required to open this event. This event is limited to 5 people so everyone can speak!
