Testimonials

Laurence has been my French teacher for over 3 years and I simply could not imagine a better teacher. She puts a lot of effort into customizing her classes to make them engaging and relevant to my interests, she is a very skilled teacher who clearly cares about her students, and she is genuinely kind and pleasant to work with. I would highly recommend her to students at all levels.

“I have been working with Laurence for around 6 years. I have learned so much and feel more confident in both speaking French and my general comprehension. Laurence teaches in a way that makes learning interesting and stimulating and prepares lessons that are relevant to daily life. Laurence is completely dependable and is always on time. She also offers an “apéro” class which is a lot of fun and a great way to meet others learning French. Laurence is also such a lovely person, kind, patient and supportive and I would HIGHLY recommend her.

“Taking French classes with Laurence has been an absolute pleasure! Learning a language while working full time may seem like a daunting task, but Laurence’s approach has made our weekly lessons a highlight over the past two years. Her detail oriented  nature has resulted in my steady progress and understanding of the language.”

Andrew S, New York City

“Laurence is personable and enthusiastic with an approach to teaching that is encouraging and supportive. She is organized, always prepared and creates lesson plans that provide an effective balance of grammar, vocabulary and conversation.

Laurence has been instrumental in my development from level A1 through level B2.

I highly recommend Laurence as a tutor whether you are a beginner interested in learning French or are more fluent wanting to enhance your French language skills.”

“Museum outings with Laurence are terrific fun and very good for one’s French.
Before starting the exhibition, Laurence gives one a heads up for the later
conversation part of the visit. We all get a sheet of paper with the discussion
questions. It suggests we choose a favorite painting or sculpture for answering
the questions.
This leads to an amusing discussion over coffee and goodies after the exhibition.
All informative and low key.”
